In addition to taking care of the day-to-day tasks of rescue, Cheri helps with transport, educates about special needs dogs, and advocates for responsi- ble pet guardianship. She has studied Humane Leadership, holds a BA in Organizational Communication and is certified in Canine Aqua Therapy. “If you need a cart for your dog and you don’t have the money, you just need to know where you can find help,” she told us. “We have compiled so much information on resources over the years, and I want people to know, there are options.There is help.I’ll even go and measure dogs for people, then send the information on to Eddie’s Wheels for Pets.” Life is good for the Ward family. They’ll be in New York City in October for the third annual Wheels On Wall Street gathering. Oscar Madison, an abandoned dog, turned social media celebrity, will be there. Then, they’ll drive to Massachusetts to spend some time at Eddie’s Wheels. DaisyMae, who is up for adoption, and Colby, one of the sanctuaries ambas- sadogs, will be traveling with them.
