b'Without prompting, Brittany, our server, brought Bailey anice-cold designated dog bowl of fresh watera very goodsign. While some dining establishments just tolerate the pres-ence of dogs, Ulele staff enjoy them, all the while followingproper dog dining protocol. We began our dining experience with a couple of appe-tizers: Charbroiled Oysters, grilled with garlic butter and acombination of grated Parmesan and Romano cheeses.Mouthwatering. The Okra Fries are hand-cut then tossed inlime juice and sea salt, served with homemade ketchup. Thesearent really fried as much as they are charred crisp, bringingout their remarkable flavor. The bottle of Enzi Chardonnay that accompanied ourmeal was just right for several reasons. First, as tastes andenjoyment go, this was the perfect foil for a warm afternoon- refreshing and buttery. Second, named after AndreaGonzmart Williams beloved German Shepherd, Enzi, $5from every bottle purchased is donated to Oncology researchat the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital. Well toastto that, Enzi. Our entrees included the Ulele Burger, a blend of shortrib, brisket and chuck burger, char-grilled (seriously) to per-fection, topped with the house steak sauce, Wisconsin sharpcheddar, portobello mushrooms, fire-roasted red peppers andfried leeks, all of which toppled the brioche bun on its side.We also ordered the New York Strip Loin, served atop WhiteCheddar Popcorn Mashed Potatoes, and the FloridaPompano, a masterful creation of pan-seared pompano filet, sundried tomato shallot cream and fried carrot ribbons. Oh,and speaking of carrots, Executive Chef Eric Lackey delivereda lovely plate of fresh steamed carrots to Bailey when heheard those were her favorite treat. Yes, she approved.Ulele is to Florida-native what the Columbia is toSpanish restaurants - another gem in the crown jewel ofdining from the Gonzmart family and their team.
