The puppy rais-ers help the dogs learn socialization and basic obedience from the age of about 10 weeks untile they return for their formal harnesstraining at 14 to 16 months. The dogs are destined to serve veterans as future guide dogs. The MacDill puppy raisers have beenrecruited from active or retired military, spouses and base employees.
